Sounds

Today during our lesson, we edited our media film, and applied and amplified sounds, to give the audience a sense of sound porn, of which is when the viewers indulge in the sounds, getting attached to the film. This is what stops people changing channel. If there is a lot of loud sounds, they are less likely to switch to a different channel.

This would help us attract our target audience of teens, as teenagers love loud sounds, and most/all of them like to watch action films. With our editing, we decided to make sure that the fast paced shots help to give the sequence its quick pace. Along with the atmosphere, and build up of tension, we wanted the pace to dramatically improve when she turned to face the house.

We decided upon a soundtrack that seemed appropriate for the time. As we want to communicate the idea that we can hear Faith's music, through her earphones, when she takes an earphone out, the soundtrack becomes quieter and then ends as the wind effect is heard. This helps drop the mood dramatically, as the audience know that something is about to happen.
